As small breeders with limited resources, but a commitment to the Morgan breed, we invested in Whispering Evansea as the foundation mare to our breeding program. She possesses strong UVM/Government and Nocture bloodlines that have proven to be excellent crosses to many Morgan bloodlines. Her sire, Tedwin Topic, is considered by many to be “the broodmare sire,” as his daughters have proven to be outstanding producers of beautiful and athletic babies.
Purchased as a two-year-old, “Evie” had an outstanding career as an in-hand horse and showed under saddle in both English Pleasure and dressage. Undefeated in New England as a two- and three-year-old, she was pinned in Oklahoma as the 1992 Reserve National Champion Three-Year-Old Mare.
Following the adage “bring to the sire the blood of his mother,” we have used line-breeding with selective outcrossings to produce consistency in our breeding program. From the different stallions, our broodmare band possesses the beauty, refinement, athleticism, and work ethic of their mother, while reflecting the breed type and style of their sires.
